Women’s Action For Development (WAFD)

WAFD, a women centric organization focusing on rural women and their challenges was merged with INSEDA for assisting the women economically through micro credit and empowering them through Mahila Mandals and Self Help Groups (SHGs) INSEDA to create affordable simple and sustainable technologies.

Our Work

WAFD has implemented and trained people about “eco village development”(EVD)

Gender focus of EVD Components are:

• Solar Poly Green House
• Heera Cookstove
• Biogas plant
• Compost basket
• Solar dryer
• Roof water harvesting
• Organic farming & Kitchen garden
• Tree plantation
• Bee Keeping

In the urban areas WAFD worked with a small group of 1500 women to help them get access to small credit. This small credit is to help them set up some income generation activity so women could earn some income, and their image and respect within the family and society increases. Small credit are provided towards :

• Education for their children for School, College/ Universities, Vocational Training etc
• Health and Welfare of the family
• Other personal needs
